Deep Tissue Massage
Natural Pain Relief
What is Deep Tissue Massage?
Deep Tissue Massage works on the deeper layers of muscle and fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles) to ease and release tension and knots deep in your muscles.
It's a fantastic treatment that is incredibly effective for relieving chronic aches and pain and contracted areas such as a stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders. As with all massage it's also a great stress reliever and can improve your general well-being.
What Can You Expect?
This style of massage uses slow, firm strokes and pressure to release deep muscle tension. Where knots (Trigger Points) in the muscles are located, targeted pressure is applied to help release these knots. This is called Trigger Point Therapy and is be incorporated into deep tissue work where needed.
I verbally communicate to each person to ensure they are comfortable through the treatment. Whilst a little soreness in tight areas may be experienced we always work within the boundaries of each person. It's a common myth that massage needs to hurt to be effective!
This style doesn't incorporate the face, head, feet or hands but should you want those areas included, please specify when booking so appropriate time can be allocated. Swedish massage style will be done in those areas.
Cost Of Treatment
1hr - £60
1.5hrs - £85
I believe that everyone deserves access to improve their well-being therefore I reserve two appointments each month for those with no or low income, these are available on a first come first served basis. I hope to increase the availability of these appointments soon! See prices below:
1hr - £35
1.5hrs - £50
All prices include a thorough and thoughtful consultation, plus check in and feedback discussions at each appointment and aftercare advice where beneficial. I allocate additional time for these things, plus undressing and dressing free of charge i.e. a 1hr appointment means 1hr hands on the body!
It will be discussed during the consultation and any subsequent appointments what areas of the body you would like the treatment to include/focus on.
If you have been diagnosed with OR suspect you have a pre-existing medical condition you should consult your GP for advice before undertaking massage therapy.
If you are unable to attend your appointment, please provide at least 24hrs notice. I'm afraid failure to do so may result in you being charged a fee for your missed appointment. Thank you for your consideration and understanding.
