Deep Tissue Massage

Natural Pain Relief

What is Deep Tissue Massage?

Deep Tissue Massage works on the deeper layers of muscle and fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles) to ease and release tension and knots deep in your muscles.

It's a fantastic treatment that is incredibly effective for relieving chronic aches and pain and contracted areas such as a stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders. As with all massage it's also a great stress reliever and can improve your general well-being.

What Can You Expect?

This style of massage uses slow, firm strokes and pressure to release deep muscle tension. Where knots (Trigger Points) in the muscles are located, targeted pressure is applied to help release these knots. This is called Trigger Point Therapy and is be incorporated into deep tissue work where needed.

I verbally communicate to each person to ensure they are comfortable through the treatment. Whilst a little soreness in tight areas may be experienced we always work within the boundaries of each person. It's a common myth that massage needs to hurt to be effective!

This style doesn't incorporate the face, head, feet or hands but should you want those areas included, please specify when booking so appropriate time can be allocated. Swedish massage style will be done in those areas.
